Distributed practice or spaced practice is a learning schedule where short periods of activity are interspersed with periods of rest or alternative pursuits. A technique in which items to be learned are repeated at intervals over a period of time.
Effects in studying
When compared to massed practice which seems to promote rote learning, distributed practice promotes meaningful learning.
