Discriminant validity

Discriminant validity is a concept in psychometrics. It is validity obtained when we measure two things that are thought to be dissimilar and our measures can discriminate between them . For instance, to show the discriminant validity of a test of math skills, we might correlate the scores on our test with scores on tests of verbal ability, where low correlations would be evidence of discriminant validity.
The concept was first outlined by Donald T. Campbell and Donald Fiske in 1959.
Discriminant validity and convergent validity together provide support for construct validity. since measure of unrelated hypothetical constructs
