Crisis intervention services are treatment facilities providing crisis intervention to help people deal with certain psychological crises. These would include:

These services are sometimes provided in walk in clinics at community mental health centres but are also provided by charities and volunteer groups.

The rationale for such services is that they provide short term support in anticipation that this will prevent longer term negative consequences such as emotional trauma, PTSD.
