In aversion conditioning a neutral stimuli is put in temporal-spatial proximity with an aversive stimulus and in time becomes aversive in its own right.

For example conditioned taste aversion conditioning occurs when taste of a certain food elicits with symptoms caused by a toxic, spoiled, or poisonous substance. Generally, taste aversion is caused after ingestion of the food causes nausea, or vomiting.[1]
