Educational trauma is an important topic. This type of trauma is different in some ways from getting into a car accident and being physically injured. Depending on the circumstances of the accident, a person may have some negative emotional experiences. We are discussing negative emotional, physical experiences occuring as a result of how schools and school districts operate. We do not give kids an option in that going to school is mandatory. Some schools are very responsive to their students and families while others are not as responsive. This creates a situation in which a child's emotional development is negatively impacted which has repercussions for their educational development as a life long learner.

So far the issues discussed are actually probably directly related to PTSD: a life threatening traumatic event. Maybe this should be a section of the PTSD article where it may fit better. Dr. Becker-Weidman Talk 21:01, February 7, 2011 (UTC)
