The Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) is a standardised rating scale used to assess the severity of psychiatric symptoms, particularly psychotic symptoms. The scale has 18 items, and each is assessed on a seven-point scale, varying from absent to extremely severe, and covers both positive and negative symptoms.
