MediaWiki 1.39 Update
Hello everyone!
I'm sure most of you have noticed the little site notice appearing on the wiki about the MediaWiki 1.39 update. I just wanted to give a little bit more information about it.
What's being updated? Mostly coding underneath the hood. There will be no major design changes. Consider it like replacing the battery of a car - the car will still be the same outwardly, but it just needs some updates underneath.
All Fandom wikis will be updating to MediaWiki 1.39 in the coming month. I don't have an exact timeline at this moment, but expect it to happen in mid-March or April. During the migration to 1.39, the wikis will be set in read-only mode. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes (major wikis could need more hours). One week before m…

Help
In Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds, there was mention of electrotherapy being used to do something to the mind. Is it possible to use electrotherapy to manipulate minds? If so, what is tthe term for it? If not, what are the limitations of electrotherapy?
During her very first session in the lab under the influence of LSD, Dr. Brenner saw potential in her reaction and instructed his subordinates to begin electrotherapy. Confused and in pain, Alice found herself in a strange place with ash falling from the sky.

Four primary colors
The primary colors that the brain (not the retina) perceives are
- yellow
- red
- blue
combining these gives the secondary colors
- orange
- purple
- green
One can see that these secondary colors are intermediate between the primary colors
One would assume then that combining a primary color and a secondary color would result in a color intermediate between the primary and the secondary. And indeed most do. Except for cyan. Cyan is produced by combining blue light and green light but the color we perceive is not intermediate between blue and green.
The color we perceive as cyan is clearly a combination of blue and something. But what that something is is just not clear.

I suggest that there were originally four primary colors and that cy…

Forward and backward thinking
When we use forward-thinking we start with a goal and ask what actions we need to perform to achieve that goal.
- For example: I need groceries therefore I need to drive to the Shopping Center.
When we use backward-thinking (usually called lateral thinking) we start with an action and ask what goal it could be part of.
- For example: Since I am already at the shopping center now would be a good time to get groceries.
Myers–Briggs Type Indicator
Jung's typological model regards psychological type as similar to left or right handedness: people are either born with, or develop, certain preferred ways of perceiving and deciding. The MBTI sorts some of these psychological differences into four opposite pairs, or "dichotomies", with each pair associated with a basic human drive:
Curiosity (how):
- Sensing/Intuition
Time (when):
- Extraversion/Introversion
Empathy (what):
- Thinking/Feeling
Sympathy (why):
- Perception/Judging
Sensing types develop strong beliefs based on information that is in the present, tangible, and concrete: that is, empirical information that can be understood by the five senses. They tend to distrust hunches, which seem to come "out of nowhere".
Intuition types tend to be more int…
Qualia
- Fear is like dirt and it washes right off.
Consciousness is being aware of being aware. Being aware means knowing what is happening. Computers know how to do things but don't yet know what they are doing.
Qualia are deeply mystifying. It is very hard to imagine how electrical signals passing through the microtubules of the brain could possibly produce something like the perception of colors.
But imagine a computer that knows what it is doing that is hooked up to a camera. Imagine that the computer is able to identify objects and intelligent enough to answer questions about what it is seeing. Obviously it must be perceiving some sort of sensation.
But that sensation would be like our perception of black and white. It would just be information. It …
Childhood Development
Our brains take in information at an alarming rate from the time we are in the womb throughout our teenage years, and all this information we absorb growing up influences who we become as adults. With emotions running unchecked, social unawareness or apathy and mental maturity not fully developed, it not hard to wonder why so many hate crimes occur in our world today. Childhood development is key to changing that culture and more specifically it starts with the parenting inside the home. A loving and nurturing mother and father are a child's best chance for a more well-rounded development and better emotional, social and mental skills as adults.
Wikia unsure about SMW's future here
Wikia management decided last year not to allow any more Wikia sites to take up Semantic MediaWiki, because of apparently insoluble problems. As our expert staffer said, "SMW is tough to run on a wiki, it's almost impossible to run effectively on a farming platform like Wikia."
At that time staff remained "committed to keeping it active and useable on wikis that already had the tool". A recent staff posting may even cast doubt on its retention: could StructuredData replace it?

Severe, back pain Sergery. What a life!
Let me start my story at the age of 37. Life was going great, I had a beautiful wife and also two beautiful and great daughters. It felt as if I was on cloud nine. Boy would everything change in an instance. I have being having Back Pains for about four months now, but not that Severe that a little self medicating couldn't take care of. On a cold January night I was at work, just doing my job like any other day. When I went to lift the product and bam like someone just stabbed me in the Back and down I went. Before I knew it, I was at the hospital and the doctor just telling me I pulled my Back muscles. He gave me a shot in the ass and sent me on my way.
