Atrial volume receptors are low pressure baroreceptors found in the atria.
When pressure drops in the atria, indicating a drop in blood volume, a signal is sent from the atrial volume receptors to the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus, in turn, stimulates the production of vasopressin (ADH). [1]
