Amino acid derivative hormones are hormones that are simple modifications of amino acids[1].
They are mostly derived from tyrosine and tryptophan. There are two types of tyrosine derived hormones: thyroid hormone and catecholamines.
- Peptide hormones are short strings of amino acids
- Protein hormones are made of long strings of animo acids
