Adaptive behavior is a type of behavior which indicates that the individual is able to take care of themselves and manage independent living, for example in terms demonstrated self care skills, adequate social skills and self-control of problem behavior. The term is usually applied in the fields of rehabilitation and special education with disabled or disordered populations
