Social Processes: Methodology · Types of test

Achievement age {also known as educational age in school settings) is a particular value in a test that is to be expected for subjects at a chronological age. So, for example, in a reading test a seven year old may score at the level expected of a nine year old. So in this case their achievement age is two years greater than their chronological age.

Generally speaking the term should only be applied to measures that have published norms for different ages
