In neuroanatomy accessory cells are a group of different cells which contribute to the maintenance, repair and support of neurons[1]. These include:
- Astrocytes
- Ependymal cells
- Magnocellular neurosecretory cells
- Microglia
- Oligodendrocytes
- Schwann cells
